What can you expect if you visit Watters Road?
When you come to worship with us, expect to see ordinary people praising God. We believe that Christ and his apostles showed us what the church and worship should be like, and we do our best to model the forms we find in the New Testament. On Sunday morning you can expect to be greeted at the door and welcomed into our Sunday morning worship services at 10:00AM. We have great Bible classes for everyone at 9:00AM. Our worship service typically lasts for an hour and fifteen minutes. During this time we praise God in song. We love to sing at Watters Road! We will pour out our hearts in prayer, and be encouraged and convicted by God's Word. Every Sunday we remember the sacrifice of Jesus as we eat the Lord's Supper. For our kids we offer a special children's class time that is concurrent with our Sunday morning sermon. There is also a children's training room and a staffed nursery available. In our effort to model the first-century church, our worship time may look different than other churches. The most noticeable difference is that we worship all together without musical instruments or special singers. This encourages everybody to participate in worship. Everybody sings praises to God at Watters Road. God is our only audience. If you have never heard four-part harmony in congregational worship, you will be amazed! If you come to worship with us, you might witness somebody becoming a Christian. We believe that a relationship with Christ and salvation starts when a person realizes that they are a sinner and that Christ has died for their sins. After they confess Jesus as Lord, we believe that baptism by immersion is crucial to obey the commands of Christ (Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:19-20), to receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), and to receive a new life in Christ. (Romans 6:1-11)As Christians, we then live our lives everyday for God, for Jesus, for each other, and for our community (Acts 2:42-47). We believe in simple, New Testament, non-denominational Christianity.
