about us

Welcome to the Watters Road Church of Christ web site. We are a church family that believes in the power of Christ working through ordinary people to do extraordinary things. We have a simple faith and seek the simple truths of the Bible and simply call ourselves Christians. We love God and do our best to model our lives after Jesus our Savior. We are an imperfect people who serve the perfect God.  We'd love to meet you some day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

WE BELIEVE

Everybody sings praises to God at Watters Road. God is our only audience. We believe that a relationship with Christ and salvation starts when a person realizes that they are a sinner and that Christ has died for their sins. After they confess Jesus as Lord, we believe that baptism by immersion is crucial to obey the commands of Christ (Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:19-20), to receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), and to receive a new life in Christ. (Romans 6:1-11 ) As Christians, we then live our lives everyday for God, for Jesus, for each other, and for our community (Acts 2:42-47). We believe in simple, New Testament, non-denominational Christianity.

salvation

But of all the questions that we seek answers to, there is one that is more important than any question we can ask. "What must I do to be saved?"  (Acts 16:30).  Being saved from what? Since we are all sinners, we need salvation from sin. (Romans 3:23).  However, God also wants to save us from loneliness, evil, worldly sorrow, and pain caused by destructive behavior.  We all have these needs!  You see, as we all struggle with our own issues and questions, we must realize our greatest need is real life.   Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  (John 10:10)   Jesus also tells us to make sure we are seeking the things that will bring joy, fulfillment and eternal life.  "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?"  (Matthew 16:26)   Jesus also tells what to seek to have real life.  "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."  Please let the Christians on Watters Road help you and tell what Jesus has done for all of us.  Who are we?  People just like you. People who need Jesus.

what are you searching for?

It doesn't matter who you are, where you've come from, or what you are going through right now, EVERYONE is searching for something.  For some, it's freedom from financial problems. It might be less stress and more time with your family.  It might be that you are seeking peace in your life, or spiritual fulfillment.  Maybe its friends who will encourage you to be better rather than pressure you to do things you don't want to do anymore. Maybe you are seeking answers to life's most important questions:

  • Where did I come from?

  • What is the purpose of my life?

  • Why do bad things happen to good people?

  • Is this really as good as it gets?
